Cyclone season is here

TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION BULLETIN
For 10 pm EST on Saturday the 8th of January 2005

Severe Tropical cyclone KERRY, a category 3 cyclone, is located in the Coral Sea
well east of the Queensland coast and is moving slowly west.

At 10 pm EST tropical cyclone Kerry, was located near latitude 18.5S and
longitude 159.6E, about 1200 kilometres east-northeast of Mackay. Wind gusts
near the centre of Kerry were estimated to be up to 170 km/Hr.

Kerry is expected to move slowly in a general westerly direction for the next 2
days. The combination of Kerry and a strong ridge along the Queensland coast
will produce fresh to strong winds along much of Queenslands east coast for a
few days.
